Stefanik willing to work with both sides
Would be nice to be able to vote for perfect people to represent us politically. Perfection, though a goal, is not attainable, when humans are involved. Consequently, selecting an excellent representative would seem prudent. Basing “excellence” on what that elected official has done for the people they represent, would seem wise. Disregarding the accomplishments and focusing one particular action found to be distasteful to us, is like cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Elise Stefanik has been recognized, by colleagues on both sides of the aisle in Congress, most willing to reach across the aisle to do what is best for the people she represents. Isn’t that what we want? Someone who sets aside the ugly politics on display in Washington to work for us first and not the political machines? She supports Trump. Fact is Trump may be there a few more months or a few more years. Elise will represent North Country interests for years to come. Don’t like Trump; don’t vote for him. Ignoring all Elise has accomplished for her district because of him is shortsighted.
Please, take time to look at her accomplishments for us. Millions and millions of dollars supporting health care facilities, expanding health care services, support for First Responders, farmers, Broadband, local economies, preserving and protecting local communities, encouraging investments in business and infrastructure, support of law enforcement and ensuring that our military is supported and maintains a presence in the North Country.
Her opponent may be qualified. The question has to be: is it wise to replace someone just because you disagree with one, just one decision made, ignoring all the good done for you? If the only disagreeable act she has committed is support Trump, there is no logical reason to vote for anyone other than Elise. Take the emotions out of the equation. Ignore the hysteria of the political campaign. A vote for Elise Stefanik is a vote for what matters to you.
