Cancer screenings remain important for everyone

‘The Cancer Services Program of Fulton, Montgomery and Schenectady Counties would like to remind everyone to schedule their breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screenings now.

Cancer is still the second leading cause of death in New York state.

Doctor’s offices and healthcare locations already have screening processes in place to keep us all safe and healthy. If you’ve had to put off your screenings, now is the time to get back on schedule.

Most health insurance plans in New York state are required to cover annual cancer screenings, so there could be no out-of-pocket expense for you. If you’re uninsured, our program provides free breast and cervical screenings to women over 40 and free colorectal screenings to men and women over 50.

Don’t wait. You need to take care of yourself too. Ask your doctor if it’s time for your exams, or contact our program for help.
