Many people gathered for National Life Chain on Sunday

Once again our area took part in National Life Chain Sunday. Each fall people that are prolife gather along strips of highways in towns and cities all across America and Canada to pray for an end to abortion. They stand silently and reverently holding signs that say: Abortion kills children, adoption the loving option, Lord, forgive us and our nation, Jesus heals and forgives. Life Chain is not a picket nor a rally; rather a time of personal and earnest prayer asking God to change hearts and heal our country from the brutality of killing innocent human life.

What a blessing to stand with over 80 people this past Sunday along Route 30A in Johnstown, in that time of silent prayer. The busy Sunday afternoon traffic of cars, motorcycles, and trucks that passed gave various positive responses of agreement and support, and there were a few negatives. Now as you consider this message, ask God to reveal his truth and touch every heart. Life is sacred.

Think about the bill that Governor Cuomo signed into law this year making it legal to take the life of a child right up to the time of birth. This law also provides no protection for a baby that is ‘accidently born alive.’ At the time, there were those who cheered as he signed this piece of legislation and then he had the tower of the World Trade Center lit up in ‘celebration.’ How gruesome to be celebrating the “right” to kill a baby. Come on New Yorkers, this horrendous law needs to be repealed. Pray for eyes to be opened and hearts to be changed.
