Dean E. Hinderliter
Dean E. “Poppy” Hinderliter, 77, of Navarre, FL passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, September 12, 2021. He was a resident of Broadalbin for many years and relocated to Navarre, FL in July 2020.
Dean was born in Clarion, PA on February 15, 1944 to Rev. Fred and Evelyn Hinderliter and was a proud veteran of the US Air Force. After being discharged from the Air Force, he worked in the construction Industry for many years.
Deans’ favorite things to do were finding something to build with a scrap piece of lumber and spending time with his four grandchildren, Gage, Matthew, Kyle and Kelsey. In his early years he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed telling stories of his days as a kid bouncing with his childhood and lifelong friend, Sonny Loop in Russell, NY.
Dean is survived by his wife, Alice of fifty-three years and three sons, Dean Hinderliter of Syracuse, NY, Dale and Jeannine Hinderliter and their two children, Matthew and Kelsey of Broadalbin, NY, and Darrin and Angela Hinderliter and their two children, Gage and Kyle of Navarre, FL; three brothers, Larry, Fred and Jim; and three sisters, Terri, Sharon and Wanda.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc., 111 County Highway 106 (Corner of Route 29 & Black Street), Johnstown followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Linda Martin, officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at Broadalbin-Mayfield Rural Cemetery.
