William Daniel Danelorich Jr.

William Daniel Danelorich Jr. of Fort Hunter, NY, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Amsterdam, N.Y. William was born on October 2, 1941, the son of the late William Daniel Danelorich Sr. and Catherine Hichens Danelorich.

William, who also was known as ‘Bill’, ‘Danny’ or ‘Dan’ worked construction in his younger years until he started a family. He went to work in various mills in the area until he retired from Schenectady International Inc., Schenectady, NY. He was known as a hard worker, working two jobs most of his life to provide for his family. William was an active member of the Tribes Hill Senior Citizens.

He enjoyed traveling, hunting, camping, and spending time with family and friends. One of his last great thrills was getting an airplane ride from Keith Edwards, who flew him over the Schoharie Valley and by the Gilboa Dam; a project William had worked on.

William married his first wife, Dale Judith Acker on June 10,1967. Together they raised four children. Dale passed away from cancer on Jan. 27, 2011.

With the help of her son, David, with whom he worked with at S.I., he met his second wife, Dolores M. Hebert. They married April 26, 2014. Delores passesd away from COVID on April 13, 2021.

He is survived by his four children, Richard Danelorich (Rebecca), of Gloversville, NY, Amber Urban (Fred), of Brooklyn, NY, Kristen Trears (John) of Queens, NY, and Erin Lipa (Brian) of Rome, NY.; stepchildren, Debra Morin (Tom) of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, David Hebert (Tracy) of Spring Hill, FL, Donald Hebert (Marie) of Scranton, PA and Douglas Hebert (Shannon) of Schoharie, NY; sister, Patricia Richter of Johnstown; his aunt, Mary Hart of Johnstown, NY; his brother and sisters-in-law, David Carter (Mary), Alfred Auspelmyer (Shirley), Katherine Rose-Mars (Raymond Mars) and Gary Auspelmyer (Lillian); beloved grandchildren, Ariel and Heidi Urban, Liam, Aidan, Molly and Finn Trears, Andrew Derek and Colin Lipa. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. William was predeceased by not only his parents but also his sister, Catherine Sabine; grandson, Richard Urban; and brother-in-law, Carl Richter.

Family and friends may call on Friday, May 7, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ehle and Barnett FFH, LLC, 15 N. William Street, Johnstown, NY 12095. A graveside committal service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 296 Martin Road, Fonda, N.Y. on Saturday, May 8, 2021, to begin at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams to preside.
