Everett L. Lepiere
Everett L. Lepiere, 92, of County Highway 138, Broadalbin, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Capstone Center for Rehab. & Nursing, Amsterdam.
He was born in the town of Day on October 17, 1928, a son of Charles and Lillian White Lepiere and attended local schools. Everett was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Lepiere was employed at Norlite Corp. in Cohoes for twenty years as a heavy equipment operator and later at Callanan Industries in Amsterdam for ten years, retiring in 1990. He was also a gifted handyman and was proud of the home that he built for his family in 1977.
Everett was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He attended the Northampton United Methodist Church at Fish House.
Everett enjoyed camping and spending winters in Florida. He also loved fishing in the ocean and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Chester; and three sisters, Sarah Earl, Margaret Akins, and Esther Finch.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Graham Lepiere, whom he married on August 18, 1951; a son, Mark of Broadalbin; a daughter, Rae (Joseph) Onyon of Carthage; two grandchildren, Jeanette and Joseph; three great-grandsons, Peyton, Ian, and Luke; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring at the Broadalbin-Mayfield Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home Inc., Johnstown, NY.
