Nadia T. Carpenter
Nadia T. Carpenter, 86, of County Highway 110, Broadalbin, passed away Monday, November 16, 2020, at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home in Gloversville.
She was born in Newark, NJ on March 10, 1934, a daughter of John S. and Mary Shumeyko Carpenter and was a 1952 graduate of Union High School. Nadia moved to Amsterdam, NY and later to Kenai, Alaska, where she lived for more than twenty years. She returned to Broadalbin in 1981.
While in Alaska, Nadia worked as a bank teller at First National Bank of Kenai and was also a short order cook at Booky’s Lunch. Later, she was employed as a teller at NBT in Broadalbin.
Nadia enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She always remembered birthdays and holidays with cards and presents and as a result, enjoyed shopping. Nadia also was an animal lover and supported causes to save wolves, whales, and dogs.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Janulis.
Survivors include a daughter, Jackie Murray of South Carolina; a brother, John (Judi) Carpenter of Broadalbin; a sister, Diana Vertorano of Broadalbin; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation was performed at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Private services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Humane Society for Abused Animals in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Robert M.
