Mark R. Walters
Mark R. Walters passed away recently after a short illness with bone cancer in Austin, Texas, which has been home to him for more than 20 years. He had many wonderful years there.
Mark was a graduate of Gloversville High School Class of 1989.
The son of Sandra Walters Hoagboon and Richard Walters, Mark spent several years as an independent legal analyst. He loved his work and especially loved the research. This past year at the age of 49, he received his law degree and JD. He enjoyed his work so much, he didn’t really want to practice law, but just wanted to see if he could. He passed the bar exam the first time. Mark was a diehard Longhorn fan and a member of their fan club. He never missed a home game.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Bob Hoagboon, along with a brother, Jeffrey Walters (Theresa) of Gloversville. He has a niece, Jessica Walters Frye (Randy); and nephew, Joe Walters, all from Gloversville. He also has five great-nieces and nephews, Aleia, Donnavyn, Carrie, David, and Lacey. He loved all of them. He is also survived by an aunt, Edith D’Errico, and many cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Richard, in May 2020, as well as his grandparents.
Per his request, there will be no services.
