Rose Kuebaugh

Rose G. Kuebaugh, age 86, of Johnstown, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020, at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home, Gloversville.

She was born on February 8, 1934, in Gloversville, a daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine Kadlic Komornik.

Rose was a class of 1951 graduate of Johnstown High School. She then pursued her nursing career attending and graduating from the Nathan Littauer Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. She began her career working at and assisting with the opening of the Johnstown Hospital. Mrs. Kuebaugh later became employed at Nathan Littauer Hospital where she worked as a Registered Nurse for many decades until her retirement in 1997. She was of the Catholic faith, a communicant of the former St. Anthony’s Church in Johnstown. Rose was a member of the St. Anthony’s Christian Women’s Group as well as the Women’s Auxiliary. Mrs. Kuebaugh was also a member of the Nathan Littauer Hospital Nurses Alumni Association and enjoyed attending the monthly luncheons with her best friend since elementary school, Mrs. Joanie Benton.

Rose took pride in her work and loved nursing. She was a gentle soul who was always kind and considerate of everyone. After her retirement in 1997, her greatest joy was taking care of her two youngest grandsons, Daniel and Noah. She led by example and always made sure everyone felt loved. Her favorite saying to all was just “Love one Another” and to her children and grandchildren, “I Love you More.”

Mrs. Kuebaugh is survived by one daughter, Sari Batease (Tom) of Rose, New York; one son, David Kuebaugh (Jennifer) of Gloversville; grandchildren, Jessica Perry, Daniel Batease, Noah Batease, Nicole Kuebaugh, Diana Dolder and David James Kuebaugh; and five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Rose was predeceased by one infant daughter, Toni Kuebaugh; and four siblings, Fredrick Komornik, Anthony “Tanzer” Komornik Jr., John Alexander Komornik and Elizabeth Coolman.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020, at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main St., Johnstown.

Visitation for family and friends will be prior to the funeral service on Friday, September 11, 2020, from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Johnstown immediately following the funeral service.
