(The former June M. Perry)
November 6, 1939 — June 2019
It is with deep sadness and grief that our family shares the death of our amazing and beloved mother, June Davin on June 29, 2019, due to a sudden and unexpected illness.
It has only been a year, but we miss her more than ever.
“Shiny” as she was known as by her grandchildren, was an extraordinary woman who lived fearlessly and loved fiercely. She was generous and giving, stubborn and opinionated, passionate and full of humor. She simply loved her family and life. She was an incredibly active member of the Jupiter community, including the Bridge and Garden Clubs as well as numerous volunteer organizations. A lifelong (and very staunch) Democrat, she also served as an election volunteer. Our mother also spent 10 years working at her beloved Jupiter Lighthouse.
Prior to retiring, she spent 37 years teaching English to public middle school and high school students in New York and Florida. She won several teaching awards over the years and was well respected and loved by her students. She also taught at local colleges, tutored, and had two master’s degrees in education.
A devoted traveler, she visited more than 20 countries in her lifetime, and donated to countless charities dedicated to children and the environment.
She is survived by her children, Kelly Davin-Robar (Stephen Robar); Kristin Davin (Robert Angelo); Patrick Davin (Elizabeth Shaw); her sister, Sandra Vomaska of Tucson, Arizona; and her grandsons Cole, Jason, and Christian.
A celebration of life took place on December 28, 2019 at her residence. She is missed everyday and forever in our hearts.
