Robert E. Lafountain
Robert E. Lafountain, 90, passed away Tuesday, March 10. He was born September 11, 1929, in Saranac Lake, NY to the late Beatrice Tucker and Edgar Lafountain.
Known as Pop to all, he enjoyed a good game of horseshoes, crossword puzzles, long drives and taking his great-grandsons, Micheal and Mitchell fishing. He was an avid pro wrestling fan and especially liked his quiet times with his furry little friend, Elliot.
Survivors include his sons Jerry (Lisa) Pepper and Jim (Sara) Carroll, daughters, Pauline Burton, Sandy (Wayne) Filkins and Trina (Tim) Fountain; sisters, Lucy (Ronnie) McCasland, and Betty (Rodney) Hill; and brother, Billy (Kathy) Tucker. He is also survived by many grandchildren, including Angie Whitehouse and Rachel Mykel; great-grandchildren, including Michael and Mitchell Pepper and Christopher Carroll; great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen; sons, Roy and Kenny Sweet; sisters, Pat Young, Joyce Dimeck and Joanne Boyne.
Calling hours will be held at the John W. Finocan Funeral Home, 13 Prospect Avenue, Gloversville, NY from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, with services to follow. Interment will be held at a later date.
