Marion J. Duesler

Marion J. Duesler, 77, of Ephratah, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at her residence with her family by her side.

She was born in St. Johnsville on October 20, 1942, a daughter of the late Harry and Adaline Miller Sweet.

Throughout the years, Marion was employed at Helmont Mills, Johnstown Knitting Mill and KeyMark. She also worked the Greater Johnstown School District and lastly at the Fulton County YMCA until her retirement. Mrs. Duesler was a member of the Ephratah Reformed Church and was a member of the Ephratah Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary as well as the Ephratah Rod & Gun Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Connie Walton (Todd) and Melonie Heroth (Ray); five stepsons, Ivan Duesler (Sue), Stephen Duesler, Edward Duesler, Clifford Duesler (Denise) and Shawn Duesler (Solveigh); two sisters, Beverly Lake (Harold) and Doris Hisert; three grandchildren, Madison, Jesse and Brandon; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marion was predeceased by her husband, I. Edward Duesler, whom she married on September 23, 1972, and who passed on June 3, 1994; one brother, Edward Fassett; and step-grandson, Lonnie Duesler.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, 215 E. Main St., Johnstown, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be prior to the funeral service on Sunday, March 1, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Ephratah Rural Cemetery in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marion’s memory may be made to the Ephratah Vol. Fire Dept. or to Mountain Valley Hospice.
