The following year, Nancy was hired as the Director of Training for the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets in Albany, NY until she retired in November of 1990.
Nancy enjoyed writing, skiing, slalom water-skiing, camping, horseback riding, piano, tennis and travel. She traveled frequently to New York City as a child with her parents and twice in the summer, drove to California with her parents, stopping along the way to ride horses in Wyoming. They also visited many parts of Canada, Florida, more of the New England states and Washington, DC. As an adult, she continued to travel the United States with her children, went to Mexico twice and enjoyed two blissful weeks in Greece. Nancy was a wonderful dancer and especially enjoyed the foxtrot and in the 1970s fell in love with disco. She was an animal lover and was especially drawn to dogs and horses.

They enjoyed gardening together, watching the birds and other various wildlife outside their door and in the summer liked to have margaritas on the porch. They traveled around the Sacandaga Lake area with Phillip’s sailboat while he participated in regattas.
