Jeff Hinkle of Troy, formerly of Johnstown, died November 5, at Albany Medical Center after a long illness. He was 59 years old, son of the late Earl and Winifred C. Hinkle. He was a 1978 graduate of Johnstown High School, and a graduate of Albany Business College and SUNY Oneonta. He worked for 22 years at the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles headquarters before retiring in 2009 due to ill health. He was a member of the Albany Friends Meeting for many years and met many dear friends there.
Survivors include his two sisters, Janice Kelly of Little Falls and Sharon Hinkle of Wilton; two brothers, Earl Hinkle Jr. of Johnstown and Kenneth (Deborah) Hinkle of Thorofare, NJ; two nieces, one nephew, three great-nieces and three great-nephews.
A brief, informal committal ceremony will be held Wednesday, November 13, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda. A memorial service for Jeff is planned for 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, at the Albany Friends Meeting House, 727 Madison Ave., Albany, NY 12208. Memorial contributions may be made to the meeting house.
