Kenneth L. Ginter
Mr. Kenneth L. Ginter, 75, of Edinburg, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2019, at Saratoga Hospital. His loving family was by his side. Born in Gloversville, NY on September 17, 1944, he was the son of the late Elwin and Helen Hopkins Ginter.
A lifetime resident of the area and a 1961 graduate of Northville High School. Ken was an Army veteran, where he served his country from 1965-1967. Ken was employed at Hudson River-Black River Regulating District as a surveyor for many years. He retired in 1998. He was a past member of Edinburg Town Board, Edinburg School Board, Edinburg Emergency Squad, and always enjoyed a good political debate. He was a proud member of the Fish House Masonic Lodge 298 in Northville. You could find Ken rooting for the New York Yankees, New York Giants and Notre Dame. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. Ken was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, cooking Italian food at home and spending summers in his backyard, never meeting a summer he didn’t love. He was proud of his community and loved living at 72 Johnson Road in Edinburg.
Survivors include his loving wife, Claudia Ginter, whom he wed, September 17, 1997; children, Wendy Mongelli (Matt) of Little Elm, TX, Ken Ginter (Sue) of Northville, Kevin Ginter (Kristin) of Edinburg and Holly Mastropietro (Ken) of Tarrytown, NY; beloved grandchildren, Adam Ginter, Christine Mongelli, Karissa Ginter, Kailyn Ginter, Grayson Hammond, Landon Ginter, Lexi Ginter, KJ Mastropietro, and Joey Mastropietro; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah and Grayson Ginter. He is also survived by siblings, Bruce Ginter (Tonya), Jane Valik (Bob) and Marcia Shepard (Dean); along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved cat, Sophia.
There will be no formal calling hours or funeral service for Ken. There will be a celebration of life at the family’s convenience. Cremation will take place at Parkview Crematory in Schenectady.
