George H. Alden
George H. Alden, 78, of Ocala Florida, passed away at home, on October 9, 2017, after battling cancer. He was born November 13,1938, to Clarence G. and Eulelia (Cumm) Alden. He was a graduate of Draper High School and Spencer Business Institute, and the owner of GH Alden Floor service. He served in the Army National Guard, and was a member of Rotterdam Kiwanis, Republican Club, and Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Elks Club, Knights of Columbus, and Our Lady of Springs Catholic Church in Ocala, Florida.
He enjoyed fishing, dancing, singing, and playing the ukulele. He loved the Yankees.
The world was a better place with him in it.
He is survived by his wife, Helen (Kissinger); his children, Gregory (Jennifer) Alden, Theresa (Joseph) Maloney, Kathrine (Dan) Dalrymple, Jennifer (John) Rathbone, Tracy (Sherman) Alden; stepchildren, Brent (Patricia) Kissinger, Laura (Hershell) Kissinger-Pettway and Bradley(Doris) Kissinger; grandchildren, Gregory, Brian, Adam, Bridget, Emilee, Raven, Howie, Monica, Jessica, Caileigh, George, Jonathan and Olivia; and great-grandchild, Nicole Kissinger; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; first wife, Monica (Nieckarz); brothers, Robert and John; son, Peter; and granddaughter, Ila Jean Rathbone.
Calling hours will be from 9-9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Schenectady.
Internment will follow at St Cyril’s Cemetery, Duanesburg Road.
