Donald C. Lozier
Donald C. Lozier, age 84, of Johnstown, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Amsterdam, with his family by his side.
He was born on June 26, 1933, in Poughkeepsie, New York, the son of the late Donald C. and Mary McNamee Lozier. He was predeceased by a grandson, Alexander W. Christiano.
Mr. Lozier obtained a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Marist College in 1960.
Donald served his country in the U.S. Air Force Strategic Air Command as a Staff Sergeant from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1957.
He was employed with Glaxo Smithkline as a pharmaceutical sales rep until his retirement in 2003.
Mr. Lozier was a member of the Holy Trinity Church, Johnstown.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia Binoche Lozier, whom he married on September 14, 1963; his children, Christopher D. Lozier and fiancee, Lori DeVito, Marc R. Lozier (Diane) and Peter A. Lozier (Lauren); his daughter, Renee C. Christiano (William J.); grandchildren, Victoria Christiano, Meghan Lozier, Kaeleigh Lozier, Nicholas Lozier and Skyler Lozier.
Mr. Lozier was an avid reader and always desired to gain more knowledge. He was interested in a number of topics including automobiles, boats, astronomy and photography. His curiosity stayed with him until his final days and survives through his family members.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Church, Glebe Street, Johnstown.
Cremation was at Vale Crematory, Schenectady.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Johnstown Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (JAVAC) as a way for the family to show their appreciation for JAVAC’s tireless commitment to help them and the community they serve.
