∫ Sacandaga Valley Arts Network Artists’ Gallery Exhibit: Fulton County Visitor Center, Routes 29 and 30, Vail Mills. Free and open to the public. Gallery is open weekends.
∫ Women’s Movement: Art by, about and for women: Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts, 2736 Route 30, Gloversville, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution granting women the right to vote. Open to the public; free will donations accepted; (518) 661-9932. The gallery hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. The art will be on display through March 31.
∫ Micropolis Cooperative featured artist Cheryl Gutmaker: Micropolis Gallery, 30 N. Main St., Gloversville. The artwork on display include paintings, pastels, photographs, fiber art, mixed media, woodwork, sculpture, glass, digital art, jewelry, pottery, drawings, woodland assemblages, baskets and collages of fine art cards. The show, which is free and open to the public, runs through February. The hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
∫ The Writers Circle: Gloversville Senior Center, 53 Church St., Gloversville, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The writers group is open to all area writers regardless of age. ∫ The Adirondack outdoorsman Show at the Loyal Order of the Moose, 109 S. Comrie Ave. The 15th annual event will feature exhibits containing items for sale pertaining to: hunting and fishing gear/supplies, guns, archery, trapping, camping, hiking, snow shoeing, guides and charter services, taxidermy, collectable knives and much more. Featured guests include book authors Robert J. Elinskas and Dan Wos. Admission is $5 for adults, $1 for children 12 and younger. ∫ Laurie Freeman hiked the Appalachian Trail: Gloversville Senior Center, 53 Church St., Gloversville, 7 p.m. Freeman will present a slide show and discuss the flora and fauna she encountered, the people she met, the gear she carried, what she ate, and the challenges she faced on this 174 days of hiking from Georgia to Maine.
∫ Creative textile fibers group: Fort Plain Free Library, 19 Willett St., Fort Plain, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Free, drop-in gathering. Participants share ideas, tips, and bring knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, embroidery, beading, felting, and other individual, fiber-based projects to work on in casual setting. Open to the public.
