∫ Sacandaga Valley Arts Network Artists’ Gallery Exhibit: Fulton County Visitor Center, Routes 29 and 30, Vail Mills. Free and open to the public. Gallery is open weekends.
∫ Fall art show: Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts, 2736 Route 30, Gloversville, featuring 120 pieces in all media with 54 artists from across the state and as far away as New Mexico. The artwork will be on display through Jan. 7. The public is welcome to view the show from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Admission is a suggested $5 donation.
∫ Micropolis and Friends art show: Micropolis Gallery, 30 N. Main St., Gloversville. The work of 27 artists will include the work of invited guests, Linda Batchelor, Julie Branch, Betty Hanson, Juliet Konieczny, Marion Kratky, Darlene Van Sickle and an Adirondack woodman. The artwork on display include paintings, pastels, photographs, fiber art, mixed media, woodwork, sculpture, glass, digital art, jewelry, pottery, drawings, woodland assemblages, baskets and collages of fine art cards. The show, which is free and open to the public, runs through December. The hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
∫ The Art of New York: Annual juried Art Show at Arkell Museum in Canajoharie, 2 Erie Blvd. Free admission to the Regional Art Galleries. Museum admission is $9 for adults, $6.50 for seniors and students and free admission for those younger than 11 and for members. Juror James Coe selected 41 pieces submitted by artists who live in New York State. Runs through Dec. 29. Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
∫ Writers Circle author luncheon: Gloversville Senior Center, 53 Church St., Gloversville. The visiting author will be Mary Cuffe Perez, who will discuss the work she has done, 11 a.m. A light lunch will follow at noon. Open to the public. $5 payable at door. ∫ The Caroga Lake Music Festival concert of holiday classics, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts, 2736 Route 30 in Mayfield. Cost is $10 and a cash bar will be available.

∫ Creative textile fibers group: Fort Plain Free Library, 19 Willett St., Fort Plain, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Free, drop-in gathering. Participants share ideas, tips, and bring knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, embroidery, beading, felting, and other individual, fiber-based projects to work on in casual setting. Open to the public. ∫ Writers at Fort Plain: Fort Plain Free Library, 19 Willett St., Fort Plain, 3 to 5 p.m. The group is made up of writers from varied writing backgrounds, genres, interests, goals and experience levels who work on memoirs, novels, short stories, poems, and more. ∫ A Native American from the Metis Nation of North America and Canada will tell an Indian Christmas story from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. at Fort Hunter Free Library, 167 Fort Hunter Road. Children can also make an Indian craft to hang on their Christmas tree.
∫ A puppet show story time and book swap, Gloversville Public Library, 58 E. Fulton St., from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the youth activity room.
