∫ Robyn Valentine featured artist — meet the artists reception: Micropolis Gallery, 30 N. Main St., Gloversville, 5 to 7 p.m. Valentine creates three-dimensional collages of metals, leather, fiber and cement. Paintings, drawings, pastels, photographs, fiber art, batik, mixed media, woodwork, glass, digital art, jewelry, pottery, woodland assemblages and fine art cards by Micropolis artists will also be on display. The show which is free and open to the public runs through June from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.


∫ Sacandaga Valley Arts Network Artists’ Gallery Exhibit: Fulton County Visitor Center, Routes 29 and 30, Vail Mills. Free and open to the public. Gallery is open weekends.

∫ Sandra J. Peters — photography artist of the month: Frothingham Free Library, 28 W. Main St., Fonda. The artwork exhibit can be viewed during library hours through May.

∫ Year of the Glove: Fulton-Montgomery Chamber of Commerce in the rotunda gallery, 2 N. Main St., Gloversville, 7 p.m. Free and open to the public. The exhibition by the Fulton County middle and high school student art and essay competition, sponsored by the Fulton County historian and Fulton County Historical Society, will be on display through June 11.

∫ Dwayne “D-Dubb Experience” DeLong — classic pop and rock music concert: Dorn Space, 99 N. Main St., Gloversville, 7:30 p.m. Special free event.

∫ Organ variety concert with Dr. Eric Stroud, Pastor Mark Fowler and other area musicians: Trinity Lutheran Church, Route 10 north, Stone Arabia, 7 p.m. Free will offering and refreshments provided. Featured: Stroud’s presentation, organs, pipes and sounds, will play one selection on the 1901 Morey pipe organ using the original organ hand pump and will be playing pieces from 1720s to 1820s. Also featured organ duet, classical and cappella music.



∫ Line dance lessons: Rustic Loft, 4740 Route 30, Amsterdam, in the SawMill Pavilion. Beginners lessons and dancing, 7 to 9:30 p.m. $5 cover charge. Sue Kaupelis, instructor.


∫ Free beginner lessons and dancing: Sharp Shooters Billiards and Sports Pub, 35 E. Main St., Amsterdam, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. New lessons and open dancing 7:30 to 10 p.m. $5 for those who stay or come in after 7:30 p.m. Sue Kaupelis, instructor.



∫ Cornhole Tournament — opening of the pavilion: Concordia Club, 128 Concordia Club Drive, Gloversville. $25 per team (coed teams only). ∫ Creative textile fibers group: Fort Plain Free Library, 19 Willett St., Fort Plain, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Free, drop-in gathering. Participants share ideas, tips, and bring knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, embroidery, beading, felting, and other individual, fiber-based projects to work on in casual setting. Open to the public. ∫ Writers at Fort Plain: Fort Plain Free Library, 19 Willett St., Fort Plain, 3 to 5 p.m. The group is made up of writers from varied writing backgrounds, genres, interests, goals and experience levels who work on memoirs, novels, short stories, poems, and more.
