Family offense leads to charges
JOHNSTOWN — Stephen H. Whitbeck, 64, of 106 Glebe St., was charged by city police at 10:05 p.m. March 20 with driving while intoxicated, having a 0.18 percent or greater blood-alcohol content, and resisting arrest, all misdemeanors.
Police said he was charged on Hoosac Street, stemming from an offense at 9:52 p.m. March 20. Police responded to the area of Hoosac and Glebe streets to a third party report of possible family offense in progress, with a vehicle in the middle of the street.
Upon further investigation, officers determined Whitbeck was allegedly intoxicated. Police said that when officers attempted to place him under arrest, he allegedly resisted.
Whitbeck will appear later in City Court.
No inspection leads to unlicensed charge
JOHNSTOWN — Octavis Brooks, 23, of 60 Pine St., Binghamton, was charged by city police at 12:42 a.m. March 20 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor; and uninspected motor vehicle, a violation.
Police said officers stopped Brooks’ vehicle on Maple Avenue, determining he had a suspended permit driver’s license.
He was released to appear later in City Court.
Driver facing several DWI charges
JOHNSTOWN — Andrew E. Horton, 22, of 838 Route 30, Northville, was charged by city police at 2:57 a.m. March 21 with driving while intoxicated and having a blood-alcohol content of 0.18 percent or greater, both misdemeanors; and failure to keep right and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, both violations.
Police said Horton was arrested at 2:42 a.m. March 21 on North East Avenue. His vehicle had been stopped for a state Vehicle & Traffic Law violation. Police said he was found to be allegedly intoxicated.
Horton will appear later in City Court.
Woman sleeping on sidewalk charged
JOHNSTOWN — Jessica A. Wollard, 37, of 25 Hoosac St., was charged by city police at 8:26 p.m. March 23 with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a violation.
Police said she was arrested on Wells Street, after officers investigated a report of a female lying on the ground. The intoxicated Wollard refused any medical treatment and became belligerent, causing a disturbance with her continued yelling, police said.
Police said Wollard refused to comply with officers’ requests to stop her behavior, and she physically resisted arrest.
She will appear later in City Court.
Man failed to make 2020 court date
JOHNSTOWN — David M. Ayers, 63, of 10 Gorski St., Amsterdam, was arrested by city police at 8:25 p.m. March 16 on a bench warrant.
Police said the suspect was charged in connection with an offense at 9 a.m. Aug. 11, 2020. Police said he allegedly failed to appear at that time in City Court before City Court Judge Brett Preston.
He was turned over to state police and held for arraignment.
Bad tail lights leads to unlicensed ticket
JOHNSTOWN — Jacob G. Wojtowecz Sr., 45, of 321 Pinnacle Road, Gloversville, was charged by city police at 8:23 p.m. March 27 with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor; and insufficient taillamps, a violation.
Officers said his vehicle was stopped on North Perry Street for an alleged state Vehicle and Traffic Law violation, and it was found his driver’s license was suspended.
Wojtowecz will appear later in City Court.
