Mayfield man gets charged with DWI
MAYFIELD — Richard L. Bailey, 60, of 121 Schabacker Road, Johnstown, was charged by Fulton County sheriff’s deputies March 12 with driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest.
Deputies said he was arrested at 11:49 p.m. in the town of Mayfield after deputies investigated a car off the road on Route 30. Deputies determined that Bailey had allegedly operated the vehicle while intoxicated.
He will appear later in Town Court.
Driver found to have suspended license
JOHNSTOWN — Jesse A. Costanzo, 38, of 589 Burtonville Road, Fultonville, was charged by city police at 10:35 p.m. March 10 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors; and unregistered motor vehicle, inadequate tail lights and unlicensed operation, all violations.
Police said Costanzo’s vehicle was stopped on South William Street at 10:20 p.m. Feb. 10 for state Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. Upon investigation, the suspect was found to have a suspended driver’s license and be in possession of a controlled substance.
Costanzo will appear later in City Court.
Motorcyclist faces several DWI charges
JOHNSTOWN — Edwin H. Atkins III, 40, of 700 S. William St., was charged by city police at 11:08 p.m. March 11 with seven counts.
He was charged with: driving while intoxicated, driving with 0.18 or great blood-alcohol content and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, all misdemeanors. He was also charged with: unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating a motorcycle without a helmet, and insufficient equipment lights/horn, all violations.
Police said Atkins was stopped at 10:52 p.m. March 11 on North Perry Street for a state Vehicle and Traffic Law violation.
He will appear later in City Court.
Vehicle stopped had traffic violations
JOHNSTOWN — Ryan M. Brown, 30, of 117 S. Pine St., Gloversville, was charged by city police at 7:48 p.m. March 13 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor; and no/inadquate tail lamps, a violation.
Police said Brown’s vehicle was stopped on Glebe Street for a state Vehicle and Traffic Law violation, and officers found his license had been suspended.
Brown will appear later in City Court.
Gloversville resident faces several charges
JOHNSTOWN — Adam S. Bleyl, 25, of 126 County Highway 112, Gloversville, was charged by city police at 9:14 a.m. March 14 with eight counts.
Police said he was charged with: second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, resisting arrest and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, all misdemeanors; and unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, uninspected motor vehicle, improper license plates and operating a motor vehicle without interlock device, all violations.
Police said Bleyl was arrested on East Clinton Street for a state Vehicle and Traffic Law violation and he was found to have a suspended license. When an officer attempted to place Bleyl into custody he began to physically resist and led officers on a brief foot pursuit before being apprehended, police said.
He was held on a state parole warrant.
