Parolee allegedly possessed drugs
FULTONVILLE — Ricky Mitchell, 41, of 2 Riverside Drive, was charged by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
State Parole officers located narcotics in Mitchell’s room while performing a parole interview. The case was turned over to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in which deputies determined the narcotics to be methamphetamine.
Mitchell was processed and issued an appearance ticket to Glen Town Court on Aug. 8. He is being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on a parole violation.
Driver found with 7.4 ozs. of cocaine
AMSTERDAM — Steven A. Carrero, 30, of 83 Academy St., was charged on July 23 by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and a traffic infraction for an insecure plate.
Carrero was stopped by deputies on Route 5 for a vehicle and traffic infraction. During the traffic stop, deputies did a search of the vehicle finding 7.4 ounces of cocaine and a small amount of marijuana.
He was processed at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and arraigned in Amsterdam Town Court. He was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail.
Deputies were assisted by K-9 GAJ and state police.
Illegal alcohol sale to a minor charged
AMSTERDAM — Hugh R. Burrell, 53, of Amsterdam was charged by state police on July 20 with prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage and first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child.
Intent to sell drugs charged, unlicensed
FULTONVILLE — Kenneth McMillan, 25, of Syracuse was charged by state police on July 21 with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a class B felony, and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation with greater than three suspensions.
