Man allegedly smokes pot with juvenile

FORT JOHNSON — James Valentin, 29, of 64 Union St., Amsterdam was charged by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies on Thursday with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana.

Valentin was charged following a complaint of possible drug use in the Ted Ellenwood Park in the village of Fort Johnson.

Upon arrival, deputies found Valentin to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and was allegedly smoking with a female juvenile.

He was processed a the sheriff’s office and released on appearance tickets in Amsterdam Town Court.

Driver charged with fleeing from trooper

MILTON — Jacob E. Currier, 28, of Broadalbin was charged by state police on May 14 with third-degree fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle.

He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Milton Town Court at a later date.
