City man charged with petit larceny

GLOVERSVILLE — James A. Burd, 63, of 13 Court St., was charged with petit larceny by city police on Thursday at 3:32 p.m.

Burd was taken into custody following a larceny investigation at the Walmart at 329 S. Kingsboro Ave. Ext. Police say Burd took store merchandise past all points of sale without paying the correct amount for the items.

Burd was issued an appearance ticket returnable in City Court at a later date.

Woman charged with shoplifting

JOHNSTOWN — On Thursday a 34-year-old Gloversville woman was arrested by Fulton County sheriff’s deputies following a larceny complaint at Runnings.

Joyce I. Harris, 207 N. Main St., was arrested at 4:43 p.m. on Willow Street in the city of Gloversville after allegedly stealing numerous items of clothing from Runnings. Harris was charged with petit larceny.

Deputies had arrested Harris earlier this month on four other larceny charges, but because of the new bail reform laws Harris was again released without bail on an appearance ticket returnable to Town Court at a later date and time.

Man charged with criminal mischief

MAYFIELD — Joseph R. Walter, 32, of Mayfield was charged by state police on March 23 with one count of criminal mischief with intent to damage property.

Walter was released in his own recognizance.
