Unsafe move leads to weapons charge
CANAJOHARIE –Aleksey Voyevodin, 40, of West Springfield Mass. was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession a firearm/weapon and moving from lane unsafely by state police on Wednesday.
Troopers said Voyevodin was charged following a traffic stop on the state Thruway westbound near mile marker 196.
Criminal contempt charges lodged
MINDEN — Jon E. Stalter, 30, of 460 Hubble Hallow Road, Cooperstown was charged on Friday by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with second-degree criminal contempt.
Stalter was arrested on an arrest warrant issued by Judge Cindea Bradley from Minden Town Court.
He was brought to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and transferred to court for arraignment.
Stalter was released and is set to appear if front of Judge Bradley at the Minden Town Court on a later date.
Inadequate lights leads to charges
AMSTERDAM — Christopher S. Ostrander, 28, of 454 Midline Road, was charged on Sunday by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operator and inadequate lights.
Ostrander was charged following a vehicle and traffic stop was conducted on Midline Road.
He was issued two uniform traffic tickets and is set to appear in Amsterdam Town Court on a later date.
Man head butts another in court
FLORIDA — James E. Kussuis, 28, of 2177 Route 5S, was charged on Friday by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with second-degree harassment with physical contact.
Kussuis was charged after allegedly head butting a victim while in the Montgomery Count Court House.
He was processed and released to appear in Mohawk Town Court on Dec. 3 at 4 p.m.
Cell phone use leads to charges
AMSTERDAM — Julio Lopez Jr., 43, of 18 Trinity Place, was charged on Saturday by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and operating a motor vehicle while using portable electronic device.
Lopez was charged following a traffic stop on Route 20 in which he was found to have a revoked driving privilege in the state with a total of 15 suspension, 14 suspensions of 10 different dates.
He was taken into custody, processed and released to appear in Amsterdam Town Court on Dec. 12 at 6 p.m.
