Driver charged with being drug impaired

AMSTERDAM — Nicholas Spaulding, 24, of 36 Steele Ave., Gloversville was charged on Oct. 4, by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with driving while ability impaired by drugs.

Deputies said Spaulding was involved in a single vehicle crash on McKay Road in the town.

He was released on an appearance ticket to Town Court on Dec. 10, at 6 p.m.

No insurance, unregistered charged

AMSTERDAM — Harleigh L. Benton, 23, of Gloversville was charged on Oct. 6 by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with driving with a suspended registration, no insurance and unregistered motor vehicle.

Deputies said Benton was stopped during a traffic stop when the vehicle alerted the mobile license plate reader of a possible suspended registration. It was confirmed to be suspended for an insurance lapse.

She was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Town Court at a later date.

Driver facing several charges

AMSTERDAM — Damien D. Andress, 41, of Saratoga was charged by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies on Oct. 6 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, suspended registration, no insurance and unregistered motor vehicle.

Deputies said Andress was stopped during a traffic stop when the vehicle alerted the mobile license plate reader of a possible suspended registration. It was confirmed to be suspended for insurance not in effect.

He was issued appearance tickets and is to appear in City Court on a later date.

Two teens charged with taking vehicle

GLEN — Two unidentified teens were charged by state police on Oct. 4 with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Troopers said the 17- and 15-year-old males allegedly took a vehicle without the owner’s consent on Sept. 25.

Teen charged with sending porn

JOHNSTOWN — A 16-year-old male from Johnstown was charged by state police on Oct. 6 with second-degree disseminating indecent material to a minor in the town of Caroga. The charge is a class E felony.

Vehicle accident leads to charges

CHARLESTON — Jeffrey M. Miller, 67, of 38 Grieme Ave., Amsterdam was charged by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies on Oct. 4 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator.

Deputies said Miller was charged following a one-car motor vehicle accident that was reported in front of 189 Korona Road. He had allegedly been driving with a suspended license.

Miller was issued a uniform traffic ticket and is scheduled to appear at Town Court on Oct. 24.

Failure to pay fine leads to arrest

AMSTERDAM — Justin R. Leach, 43, of 268 Gardnersville Road, Cobleskill was charged by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies on Oct. 3 on a bench warrant out of Amsterdam Town Court.

Leach was taken into custody and arraigned in court were he paid his outstanding fine and released.
