Man charged with welfare fraud

JOHNSTOWN — Raheem A. Brown, was arrested by Fulton County sheriff’s deputies on Aug. 19 on an outstanding warrant for petit larceny and obtaining public assistance by fraud.

Brown allegedly submitted a SNAP application on Jan. 12 and failed to report that he was employed at the time of the application. He obtained $204 in benefits he was not entitled to.

Brown was arraigned in Johnstown City Court and remanded to Fulton County Correctional Facility on $250 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond.

Failure to pay fine leads to charges

ST. JOHNSVILLE — Lucas R. Collard, 26, of 59 Division St., was charged by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and speeding in a posted zone.

A department of motor vehicle check during a traffic stop confirmed Collard’s driver’s license was suspended for failure to pay a fine.

He was processed on scene and released with uniform traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in St. Johnsville Town Court on Sept. 11.

Driver charged with being unlicensed

FORT PLAIN — Jeremy B. Hogan, 36, of 6717 Route 5S, Apt. B., was charged on Aug. 17, by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

Hogan was processed and released on an appearance ticket and is to return to Palatine Town Court on Aug. 29.

Man charged for violating court order

FORT PLAIN — Hector Joseph Minor, 67, of 5107 Route 10, was charged on Aug. 16 by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies with second-degree criminal contempt for violating an order of protection.

An investigation showed that Miner allegedly sent messages to a female in violation of an order of protection.

He was arraigned in Palatine Town Court and released on bail.

Physical contact alleged in arrest

FONDA — Gregory Duesler, 59, of Fort Plain was charged by state police on Aug. 12 with second-degree harassment with physical contact.

Duesler was released on an appearance ticket to return to court at a later date.

Teen charged with sexual abuse

JOHNSTOWN — An unidentified 18-year-old male from Fultonville was charged by state police on Aug. 12 with third-degree sexual abuse for an incident which occurred on Aug. 5.

Driver charged with drunk driving

GLEN — Pedro Alejandrio Lopez, 45, of Fultonville was charged by state police on Monday with driving while intoxicated and having a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher.
