Charges of petit larceny lodged

NORTHAMPTON — Dakota C. Wilson, 22, of 106 Peaceful Falls Road, town of Hope, was charged by Fulton County sheriff’s deputies at 3:39 p.m. July 7 with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Deputies said he was charged at his residence. Deputies responded to the Tops Market store in the town of Northampton for a larceny complaint and were advised the suspect fled the area in an unknown vehicle after allegedly stealing merchandise.

Wilson will appear later in Town Court.

Resisting arrest, endangering charged

JOHNSTOWN — Robert R. Shutts Jr., 36, of 16 Fonclair St., was charged by city police at 11:43 p.m. Monday with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of resisting arrest, all misdemeanors.

Police said he was charged at his residence. Police said members of the police department’s Patrol Division responded to a domestic disturbance at the residence. In the course of the call and subsequent investigation, it was learned that Shutts had been in a physical altercation with family members, police said.

The physical altercation allegedly occurred in the presence of two children aged 10 and 11, police said.

Shutts was held to appear later in Town Court.

Criminal possession of a weapon charged

JOHNSTOWN — Dwayne L. Brechlin, 52, of 426 River Drive, Rowersville City, S.C., was charged by city police at 8:15 p.m. Sunday with a misdemeanor count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Police said he was arrested at 301 N. Comrie Ave. in connection with an offense at 8 p.m. Sunday. Members of the police department’s Patrol Division responded to a domestic disturbance in the lobby area of the Holiday Inn. Police said that in the course of the call and subsequent investigation, it was learned that Brechlin allegedly possessed a loaded .22-caliber pistol.

Brechlin did not possess a valid New York state permit, police said.

He will appear later in City Court.

Drug, alcohol charges lodged

JOHNSTOWN — Two people in a vehicle were charged by city police at 2:30 p.m. Sunday with drug and alcohol offenses.

Police said driver Justin H. Poulin, 41, of 216 E. Fulton St., was charged on North Perry Street with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor; and failure to keep right, a violation.

Police said passenger Kristine M. Port, 39, of 216 E. Fulton St., Gloversville, was charged on North Perry Street with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor; and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, a violation.

Officers stopped a vehicle on North Perry Street for a violation of state Vehicle and Traffic Law. Police said officers allegedly observed open containers of alcohol in the vehicle.

After further investigation, it was learned Poulin and Port were in possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia, police said.

The suspects were arraigned in City Court and held for further court action.
