Man arrested on two active warrants

JOHNSTOWN — Dominic M. Eplite, 37, of 204 Burton St., was arrested by city police at 11 p.m. on Monday on two warrants.

Police said he was arrested at 5 Pearl St. by members of the Patrol Division on two bench warrants issued out of City Court.

Eplite was held for arraignment in City Court.

DWI, traffic violations charged

JOHNSTOWN –William D. Morehouse, 55, of 1776 Route 67, was charged by city police at 12:12 a.m. Sunday with driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI, both misdemeanors; and failure to keep right and a lane offense, both violations.

Police said officers responded to a vehicle complaint of North Perry Street at midnight of a possible drunk driver entering the city. Officers stopped Morehouse’s vehicle for state Vehicle and Traffic Law violations and he was found to be allegedly intoxicated, police said.

He will appear later in City Court.

Yonkers man arrested on warrant

JOHNSTOWN — Carlos E. Islas, 27, of 1 Alexander St., Yonkers, was arrested by city police at 4:15 p.m. July 1 on a warrant.

Police said he turned himself in to the police station on a bench warrant issued by City Court.

He was held for arraignment in that court.

Two women facing drug charges

JOHNSTOWN — Two Montgomery County women were charged recently by city police on felony drug offenses.

City police said driver Kayla L. Dwight, 24, of 1167 Youkers Bush Road, St. Johnsville, was charged at 10:37 p.m. June 28 with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, both felonies; and criminal use of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor; and failure to stop at a stop sign, a violation.

Police said her passenger – Karilyn N. Mills, 31, of 8 Dahalia Lane. Fultonville, was charged at the same time with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance; and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

Police said driver Dwight and passenger Mills were charged on Briggs Street in connection with offenses at 10:15 p.m. City police and members of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle on that street for a state Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. A sheriff’s K9 alerted authorities to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.

Police said a subsequent investigation revealed the driver and passenger to be in possession of several bags containing cocaine and packaging materials.

Both suspects were held for arraignment in City Court.
