Man charged with felony possession

JOHNSTOWN — Christopher M. Peters, 20, of 72 Third St., Gloversville, was charged by city police at 2:20 a.m. June 23 with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies; and criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor.

Police said Peters was charged on North Perry Street, stemming from a 2 a.m. offense. Police said the Patrol Division responded to a complaint of possible hand-to-hand drug sales near the area of Smalley’s lot. Police said Peters was found to allegedly be in possession of cocaine. The suspect also gave officers a false name and ID during the investigation, police said.

Peters will appear later in City Court.

Man picked up on equipment violation

JOHNSTOWN — Adam R. Larue, 32, of 78 E. Fulton St., Gloversville, was arrested by city police at 1:27 p.m. June 23 on an equipment violation and on a warrant, a violation.

Police said Larue’s vehicle was stopped on North Perry Street for a state Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. He was found to have an active bench warrant issued from St. Johnsville, police said.

The suspect was turned over to the St. Johnsville Police Department, but he also faces action in Johnstown City Court.

Unlicensed operation, drunk driving charges

MAYFIELD — James A. Valentin, 44, of Amsterdam was charged by state police at 6:35 a.m. on Saturday with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content .08 or greater, and driving while intoxicated.

Valentin was released on an appearance ticket.

Woman arrested for driving while drunk

BROADALBIN — Heather M. Vanalstyne, 27, of Amsterdam was charged by state police at 11:29 a.m. on Saturday with operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content .08 or greater, and driving while intoxicated.

Vanalstyne was released on an appearance ticket.

Man taken in custody for failure to stop, DWI

BROADALBIN — Christopher Jakubiak, 35, of Ballston Spa was arrested by state police at 11:15 p.m. on Saturday and charged with failure to stop at a stop sign, driving while intoxicated and reusing to take a breath test.

Jakubiak was held by police on cash bail.

Man charged for speeding, drinking

SAINT JOHNSVILLE — Donald L. Beebe, 36, of Utica was arrested by state police on Saturday at 10:03 p.m. and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, excessive speed and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway.

Beebe was released on an appearance ticket.
