Man charged with disorderly conduct
NORTHAMPTON — Matthew J. Merriman, 23, of Rotterdam was charged by state police on June 9 with disorderly conduct.
Failure to appear leads to warrant
AMSTERDAM — Elwood C. Hallet, 25, of 15 Layfeyette St., Schenectady was charged on Sunday by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies on an active bench warrant for failure to appear in court.
Hallet was arraigned in Amsterdam Town Court and remanded without bail. He is scheduled to return to court on Thursday.
Driver almost strikes deputy
MOHAWK — Randolph A. Ekstrom, 41, of 117 Clinton St., was charged on June 4, by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies for driving while ability impaired by drugs, failing to yield the right of way to emergency vehicle and failure to keep right.
Ekstrom was charged after almost striking a deputy assisting a disabled vehicle on Route 5. He was found to be allegedly operating the vehicle under the influence of drugs.
He was processed and released to appear in Mohawk Town Court.
Drug investigation leads to arrest
JOHNSTOWN — Clyde C. Jones III, 53, of 74 E. Fulton St., Gloversville, was charged by Fulton County sheriff’s deputies at 8 a.m. May 29 at home with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, all felonies.
Deputies said the arrest followed a joint narcotics operation with the Gloversville Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. A County Court warrant for his arrest was issued by Judge Polly A. Hoye.
Jones was arraigned in County Court and sent to the County Jail without bail, pending further court action.
Man charged in domestic incident
JOHNSTOWN — Alexander W. Hayes, 23, of 107 W. Eighth Ave., Apt. 1, Gloversville, was charged by Fulton County sheriff’s deputies Monday with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.
Deputies said Hayes was arrested following a family offense involving a former girlfriend at a County Highway 107 residence in the town of Johnstown. Deputies said he allegedly prevented her from calling police for help and physically restrained her against her will.
Hayes was arraigned in Town Court and released to reappear later. A stay-away order was issued for the victim.
Drug investigation leads to man’s arrest
AMSTERDAM — Colin W. Miller, 52, of James Street, Amsterdam was charged by Amsterdam police with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class B felony.
Police said that on June 6 around 2:35 p.m., members of the Amsterdam Police Department Detective Bureau arrested Miller after a four-month investigation into the alleged sales of crack cocaine around the James Street area.
Miller was processed and held for arraignment.
