Reporting false child abuse alleged

GLOVERSVILLE – The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation stationed at the state police barracks in Mayfield arrested Benjamin A. Manieri II, 35, of Gloversville for two counts of third-degree falsely reporting an incident on Tuesday.

Troopers said an investigation revealed that on April 3, Manieri contacted the New York State Central Registry, Office of Family and Children Services and allegedly made two false reports of child abuse.

Manieri was arraigned in Mayfield Town Court and released on $5,000 unsecured bail to return at a later date.

Man allegedly violates order of protection

AMSTERDAM — John M. Page, 19, of Johnstown was arrested by Montgomery County sheriff deputies on Tuesday for second-degree criminal contempt.

Deputies said Page was arrested at the Amsterdam Police Department on an active arrest warrant from Amsterdam Town Court for allegedly violating an order of protection while at a Fort Johnson residence.

Page was remanded to Montgomery County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
