Failure to appear leads to warrant

GLOVERSVILLE — Eric McClinton, 32, of 18 Temple St., was taken into custody by city police on an active bench warrant on Saturday at 1:50 p.m.

McClinton was located on an active bench warrant for failure to appear on vehicle and traffic charges.

McClinton was processed and turned over to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department.

Traffic stop leads to warrant arrest


CANAJOHARIE–John J. O’Brien III, 39, of 58 Otsego St., Canajoharie, was taken into custody on an active bench warrant by Canajoharie police on Saturday at 4:49 p.m.

O’Brien was stopped in Canajoharie for a vehicle and traffic violation. A license check revealed O’Brien had an active bench warrant issued out of City Court by Judge Traci DiMezza for failure to appear on a charge of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

O’Brien was transported to the Gloversville Police Department where he was processed and held for arraignment.

Man charged with felony in incident

GLOVERSVILLE — Gary Evans, 45, of 28 Chestnut St., Apt. 1, was charged with a felony for aggravated family offense, third-degree assault and unlawful imprisonment by city police on Aug. 8 at 4:50 p.m.


Evans was taken into custody by city police following a domestic violence complaint. During the course of investigation it was determined that Evans struck a female and held her against her will. Evans was also charged with aggravated family offense, a class E felony, due to a prior family offense conviction in the last five years.

Evans was taken into custody and held for arraignment.

Driver drives car into porch, DWI

GLOVERSVILLE — Timothy J. Collier, 61, of 40 W. Twelfth Ave., was charged with a misdemeanor for driving while intoxicated and a violation for unlawful possession of marijuana by city police on Friday at 6:35 p.m.

City police responded to a motor vehicle accident at 178 Kingsboro Ave. where the driver of a vehicle struck the porch of the residence. Officers conducted a field sobriety test on the driver, Collier, after smelling alcohol coming from his person that yielded positive results for driving while under the influence of alcohol. Collier was also found to be in possession of marijuana.

Collier was transported to the station, processed and released with appearance tickets to appear in City Court at a later date.

Cops: Man shoved child off their bike

GLOVERSVILLE–Michael L. Tillinghast, 54, of 5 Fremont St. Apt. 305, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child by city police on Friday at 8:15 p.m.

Tillinghast was taken into custody following an endangering the welfare of a child complaint on Fremont Street. During the investigation, it was alleged that Tillinghast shoved a juvenile male off of his bicycle.

Tillinghast was issued an appearance ticket returnable in City Court at a later date.
