Kyle Austin, 21, of Gloversville, and the unnamed 17-year-old were each charged recently with second-degree burglary, a felony, state police said. The 17-year-old was not identified due to the person’s age.

The incident happened Aug. 26 in the town, state police said. Troopers responded for a report of a residential burglary. The homeowner reported returning home early that morning and finding a side door open and items moved about the residence, state police said.

Nothing was reported taken from the home, officials said.

Both Austin and the 17-year-old were identified through home security camera footage from inside the residence, troopers said.

Austin was arrested in the city of Johnstown, officials said. He was arraigned in town court and released to return to court later. The 17-year-old was referred to Fulton County Probation, officials said.
