CAROGA LAKE — In a press release June 9, Nathan Littauer Hospital Public Relations Coordinator Dakota Pike announced a “drive-thru grand opening” for the new, stand-alone primary care center in Caroga.

Formerly housed within the Caroga Town Hall since 2005, the new facility, which began construction in September 2020, is open to provide services which include internal medicine, family practice, pediatrics, women’s health care, a retail pharmacy and laboratory services on site, according to Pike. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Pike said, “We are holding a ‘drive-thru open house,’ Thursday, June 24th, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.  where community members are invited. Members of the community are invited to celebrate with us, get a glimpse of the new center and receive a free gift, while supplies last.”

A ribbon cutting ceremony and photo opportunity with town officials and dignitaries will occur earlier that day at 1 p.m.

NLH Physician Assistant Alison Townsend said she is looking forward to meeting new patients in the local area.

“We provide an invaluable service to the community members here, and I think our patients are grateful for that,” Townsend said.

The new primary care center is located on the south border of the Caroga Town Hall parking lot and has 1,350 square feet of space.

Supervisor Scott Horton said, “It is exciting to work with Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home in our commitment to the community. This new Caroga Lake Primary Care Center is a boon, and it shows that the area of our town continues to grow. In turn, so is the need for great healthcare services.”
