Fulton Center seeks new leader
JOHNSTOWN — The Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare is currently seeking a new administrator after the departure of former Administrator Leonard Hersh, who spent over six years running the facility.
Centers Director of Corporate Communications Jeff Jacomowitz, said Monday that Hersh is no longer with the County Highway 122 private skilled nursing home.
He left the facility for “personal” reasons, according to parent company, Bronx-based Centers Health Care.
Hersh, an Oppenheim resident, had been the administrator of the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare since November 2015.
Jacomowitz said that currently at the Fulton Center, Assistant Administrator Yakov Applebaum is heading the facility until a candidate is hired.
“Centers Health Care is actively in search for Leonard’s replacement,’ he stated. “The company has been interviewing.”
The company has posted an advertisement on the internet, seeking a new licensed nursing home administrator, or LNHA, but not mentioning a salary.
Duties of the LNH include: Supervises all clinical and administrative functions in the facility, development and implementation of a facility management system; administration, management, supervision and coordination of all departments to ensure quality care; financial management of a health care facility, monitor and maintain facility’s compliance with all pertinent state and federal regulations; oversight of the facility quality assurance process, and ensure that individual rights and opportunity for choice exist for all residents.
Candidates for Fulton Center LNTA must have current New York LNHA certification; five plus years working as an LNHA in a long-term care facility; experience in performance management and effective leadership, proven leadership and management skills, strong verbal and written communication skills; must maintain confidentiality regarding resident and proprietary information; and ability to relate professionally and work cooperatively with residents and staff at all levels.
The Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare is a 176-bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility that is a member of the Centers Health Care Consortium.
