3 new contracts given go-ahead

JOHNSTOWN — The Fulton County Board of Supervisors on Monday approved three new county union contracts containing raises at the board’s monthly meeting at the County Office Building.

Two of the three contracts – all approved following a closed-door executive session – involved collective bargaining with Fulton County Sheriff’s Department employees. Memorandum of Understandings will now be signed for the contracts.

Supervisors approved a new contract between the county, sheriff and the Fulton County Deputy Sheriff’s Police Benevolent Association. The term of the agreement with the PBA is Jan. 1, 2021 through Dec. 21, 2021 (with retroactivity). The union includes road patrol deputies.

Retroactive to Jan. 1, $750 will be added to union members’ base salaries, then 3 percent hikes added to the salary schedule. The parties agreed to modify the PBA’s Jan. 1, 2017 to Dec. 31, 2020 collective bargaining agreement.

The board also approved a new contract between the county, sheriff and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office Employees Alliance. The union includes Civil Office and 911 Communications Office personnel, as well as employees of the Fulton County Correction Facility.

Terms of the agreement are retroactive to Jan. 1, 2020 and run through Dec. 21, 2021 (with retroactivity).

Alliance union members will receive 3.5 percent wage increases for both 2020 and 2021.

The parties agreed to modify the last Jan. 1, 2016 to Dec. 31, 2019 collective bargaining agreement.

The Fulton County Nurses Unit was also given a new contract Monday. Wages will include 3 to 3.5 percent salary increases effective in 2022.

Terms of the new agreement for the nurses union — part of the Civil Service Employees Association — run from Jan. 1, 2022 to Dec. 21, 2023.

Parties involved in this agreement agree to modify the Jan. 1, 2018 to Dec. 31, 2021 collective bargaining agreement.

In other board personnel action Monday, supervisors appointed Danielle Hartwig of Gloversville to the Fulton-Montgomery Schoharie Workforce Development Board. She is the manager of human resources at DHL Supply Chain. She will serve as a private sector board member.
