Early-morning crash kills two on Route 29

JOHNSTOWN — State police are investigating a one-car fatal accident in which two area residents were declared dead at the scene early Friday morning.

At approximately 12:10 a.m., state police responded to a one-car fatal accident. The driver, Alexander Simon, 27, of Mayfield, and passenger, Zachary Luck, 25, of Johnstown, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Fulton County coroner.

A preliminary investigation into the fatal accident shows that Simon and Luck were traveling east bound on Route 29 near County Highway 119 when their vehicle exited the paved portion of the roadway and collided with several trees.

“The investigation into the accident is still ongoing,” said Trooper Meghan Lohman.
