Virtual ‘Coffee with a Historian’ event planned

FONDA — The Montgomery County Department of History and Archives will have New York State Historian Devin Lander as our featured historian for November’s free virtual event Coffee with a Historian from 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 13. This event was previously scheduled to be held earlier this year and had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a news release.

Lander will discuss New York’s planning for 250th anniversary commemorating the Revolutionary War, the New York History journal and the podcast, “New York in a Minute” that he co-hosts with the Travel Channel’s Don Wildman of Mysteries at the Museum. Lander also specializes in 1960s New York state history as well as New York state political history.

While the MCDHA currently remains closed to the public during this national health crisis, “Coffee with a Historian” events are held virtually. As there may be limited participant capacity, register for the event by sending an e-mail to: kfarquhar@co.montgomery.ny.us.

For more information, call the MCDHA at (518) 853-8186.
