Healthy turnout for area counties

Early voting started Oct. 24 in New York state.

The Fulton County Board of Elections has early voting at the County Services Complex, Route 29, Johnstown.

The board had a total of 3,329 early voters as of noon Friday.

The Montgomery County Board of Elections has early voting at the old County Courthouse, Park Street, Fonda. The board had 2,651 early voters as of noon Friday.

Early voting in both counties continues today, as well as Sunday, when it concludes.

Voting on both days is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This year marks the first time that early voting was allowed ina presidential election in New York state.
