Drug dealer gets 2 years prison

JOHNSTOWN — Several drug possession cases were handled recently in Fulton County Court.

James Brockhum, 49, of Fremont Street, Gloversville, was sentenced July 1 by County Court Judge Polly A. Hoye to two years in state prison, as a second felony offender. He also received 1 1/2 years post-release supervision, as part of the plea arrangement.

Brockhum pleaded guilty March 9 to one felony count of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was arrested at 1:55 a.m. Oct. 3 by Gloversville police, charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police responded to 24 Eagle St. for a disorderly conduct complaint. During the investigation, police found one of the involved suspects, Brockhum, to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine packaged for sale, police said.

In other court action:

∫ Rodney Johnson Jr., 20, of North Street, Gloversville, was sentenced July 1 by Hoye to two years in state prison. He also received one year of post-release supervision, as part of a plea arrangement.

The sentence was based on Johnson’s Feb. 3 guilty plea to one felony count of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was arrested Oct. 16.

∫ Knicholas Warner, 23, of Fifth Street, Gloversville, pleaded guilty June 30 before Hoye to one felony count of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, as part of a plea arrangement.

Sentencing was adjourned until a later date, but the defendant is expected to receive six months in the County Jail and five years probation.

He was arrested Dec. 7, 2019.

∫ David Ellithorpe, 43, of Oak Lane, Gloversville, was sentenced July 1 by Hoye to time already served, as part of a plea arrangement. He also received a six-month driver’s license suspension, installation of an ignition interlock device on his vehicle, and he must attend a Victim’s Impact Panel.

The sentence was based on his Dec. 16, 2019 guilty plea to first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, driving while intoxicated, and driving with 0.08 percent or greater blood alcohol content.

State police arrested Ellithorpe Aug. 16, 2019 in Mayfield. He was originally charged with DWI, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, and driving with 0.08 percent or greater blood alcohol content.
