Fulton County reduces staffing levels

JOHNSTOWN — As a precautionary measure related to the coronavirus spread, and in accordance with the recent Executive Order issued by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Fulton County government has reduced its staffing levels by 50 percent through March 31.

In addition, most county office locations will close to walk-in service, effective March 23, according to a news release issued by county Administrative Officer Jon Stead.

The release states: “County government continues to operate to provide necessary services to residents; however, residents and/or business owners are expected to contact County departments utilizing U.S. mail, email or other internet service. County employees are working very hard to continue services uninterrupted and to ensure those in need can access important care or referrals. The order by the Governor to dramatically curtail staffing levels during this unprecedented emergency is expected to increase wait times and local officials ask the public to be patient during this period. If you need assistance, please call the department in advance to inquire about office hour changes and updates.”
