Fire crews work to put out a blaze at a residence on East Main Street in Fort Johnson on Friday. On its Facebook page, the Fort Johnson Volunteer Fire Department gave their thanks to the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department, Tribes Hill Volunteer Fire Department, Montgomery County sheriff’s office, state police, Greater Amsterdam Volunteer Ambulance Corps. and the Montgomery County Emergency Services for providing mutual aid during the structure fire this morning. “Your help was greatly appreciated.” The department wrote that “fortunately there were no family members home during this incident. Multiple good citizens stopped to offer their assistance as well.” (The Leader-Herald/Eric Retzlaff)
