Appointments made by Fulton County supervisors
JOHNSTOWN — The Fulton County Board of Supervisors made various appointments at its first regular meeting of the year Monday at the County Office Building.
Among those appointments were those made to the 23-member Fulton County Local Emergency Planning Committee.
“We often ask supervisors if they know of anyone who would serve on one of these advisory boards,” noted county Administrative Officer Jon Stead.
But Stead said Gloversville 1st Ward Supervisor Marie Born came forward to volunteer herself to fill a “citizen” vacancy on the Fulton County Local Emergency Planning Committee. The board appointed that committee, as amended with Born’s name added to serve a term.
In other business, the board appointed these members of the Fulton County Industrial Development Agency: David D’Amore, Michael Fitzgerald, Joseph Gillis, Jane Kelley, Timothy Munn, Todd Rulison and Joseph Semione.
Named to the Fulton County Soil & Water Conservation District were: Scott Horton, Frank Lauria, Earl Hare, Richard Hart and Jerry Moore.
Supervisors appointed Grant Preston, Greg Fagan and Travis Mitchell to the Fulton County Center for Regional Growth Board of Directors.
The board appointed the following to the Fulton County Youth Bureau Advisory Board: Richard Handy, Kim Westover, Gregory Young, Yvonne Major, Ellen Anadio, Denise Benton, Dorothy LaPorta, Jacob Frenyea, Greta Frasier, Carolyn Darkangelo, Robin Wentworth and Pamela Baran.
Joseph DeCristofaro of Johnstown was reappointed to serve at the please of the Board of Supervisors as Fulton County’s representative to the Capital District Off-Track Betting Corp. Board of Directors. The 2020 appointment is effective upon formal confirmation of the state Racing and Wagering Board.
Supervisors confirmed these members of the Fulton County Planning Board: Frederick Bochenek, Karen Smith, David C. Rackmyre Jr., John Kessler, Phil Comini, Walter Fitzgerald, Frank Lauria, James Anderson, Peter Goderie and Jerry Moore.
Appointed to the Fulton County Traffic Safety Board were: Mark Yost, Cynthia Licciardi, Eric Johnson of the Johnstown Police Department, Rachel Truckenmiller, Sgt. Anthony Reppenhagen, Lt. Michael Garavelli, Matthew VanValkenburgh of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, Steven Santa Maria, Sherry Brown, Denise Frederick, Margaret Luck, Fulton County Sheriff Richard Giardino, Marie Born, and Chad Brown.
Deputy fire coordinators for 2020 will be: Ralph Palcovic, Bruce Heberer, James Lewek, Frank Berenger, John Lesniewski, Richard DeLuca, Scott DeNinno and Justin House.
Serving on the Fulton County Ethics Board will be: Lisa Queeney, Shelley Yerdon, Fulton County Attorney Jason Brott and Michael F. Gendron.
