Fulton County Board of Supervisors approve FMCC change orders

JOHNSTOWN — The Fulton County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved numerous change orders related to Fulton-Montgomery Community College projects.

County Administrative Officer Jon Stead said many of the capital projects the counties were recently involved in contractual funding with have been completed.

“There are two or three that are still ongoing,” Stead said.

Change orders before the board Tuesday at the County Office Building involved various contracts with the Campus Labs & Classrooms Phase II project, an electrical change order for that project, and other change orders connected with the FMCC Theater and Other Buildings Renovation project. Two other approved resolutions established the FMCC Financial Technology Lab — Phase III design project in the 2019 capital plan, and authorized a design services contract for that project.

The board authorized these change orders for contracts with the Campus Labs & Classrooms Phase II project: Tri-Valley Plumbing & Heating — two decreasing the plumbing contract by a total of $3,200, and two decreasing the HVAC contract by $5,000; AOW Associates Inc. — roughly $4,000 reduction; Fulmont College Association — $1,077 reduction; and CME Associates — $1,500 reduction.

Supervisors authorized a $20,500 change order adding to the electrical contract with Harold R. Clune for the same project. The change order was to remove an existing gas shutoff button, and update the Classroom Building BCU controller.

The board authorized change orders with the FMCC Theater and Other Buildings Renovation project. They included: $1,500 change order decreasing the theatrical construction contract with Janson Industries; $1,800 change order zeroing out a hazmat monitoring contract with C.T. Male Associates; and a $972 contract reduction change order for the Fulmont College Association clerk of the works.

Other approvals by the board included: a $14,725 electrical change order; a $1,450 change order addition to the contract of Ray Supply of Glens Falls for additional audio equipment; and an additional $4,206 change order for the contract with AOW Associates Inc. of Albany for additional upgrades.

The board passed a resolution establishing a FMCC Financial Technology Lab design project in the 2019 capital plan as a precursor to the 2020 construction project. Also approved was a $20,800 design services contract with JMZ Architects and Planners PC of Glens Falls for the same project.
