Police seek details regarding injured dog

GLOVERSVILLE –City police are investigating injuries sustained to a city resident’s dog and are asking anyone with information regarding the injuries to come forward, according to a new release.

On Wednesday at about 3 p.m. members of the Gloversville Police Department Patrol Division responded to an address on N. Main St. in the City of Gloversville in response to a criminal complaint. While on scene investigating the original complaint, police were made aware of a separate animal complaint. Members of the patrol division made contact with the owner of a dog, who reported that the animal had gotten loose, and when it returned, the animal was injured. Specifically, the animal had sustained an injury to two separate areas on its back. The manner in which the dog sustained the aforementioned injuries is currently unknown, but under investigation by the Police Department.

Currently no evidence exists to support that the animal was injured as the result of criminal activity.
