Area students honored by SNHU
MANCHESTER, N.H. — Southern New Hampshire University recently named its summer 2021 President’s List.
Full-time students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above are named to the President’s List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits; undergraduate day students must earn 12 credits in fall or spring semester, and online students must earn 12 credits in either EW1 & EW2, EW3 & EW4, or EW5 & EW6.
Kayla Savage (Mayfield), Corey Milliman (Gloversville), Skylar Loomis (Gloversville), Joseph Morell (Fonda), Bailey Whitbeck (Amsterdam) and Vonny Surjoto (Broadalbin) were among those honored.
Students honored by Saint Rose
ALBANY — The College of Saint Rose has recognized undergraduate and graduate students for outstanding academic performance with the 2021 Honors Convocation. Awards were presented by the College’s four schools during the spring 2021 semester. The College would like to congratulate those honored by the Thelma P. Lally School of Education.
Katie Sill of Esperance, a(n) ELA Certificate: School Building Leader major, received the following award: Outstanding Graduate Student.
Katelyn Harrington of Mayfield, a(n) Childhood Education/Special Education major, received the following award: Academic Achievement Class of 2021.
Camryn Meca of Mayfield), a(n) Childhood Education/Special Education major, received the following award: Academic Achievement Class of 2021. This award recognizes outstanding students from Undergraduate classes who have achieved the highest cumulative GPA in their respective classes.
Kaylee Hampton of Mayfield, a(n) Childhood Education/Special Education major, received the following award: Academic Achievement Class of 2021.
Mangiaracina honored by Hamilton
CLINTON — Alissa Mangiaracina, of Gloversville, was named the recipient of The Charles A. Dana Prize Scholarship at Hamilton College’s annual Convocation ceremony on Aug. 25. Mangiaracina, a sophomore, is a graduate of Gloversville High School.
Members of the administration welcomed students and new faculty, and academic achievement prizes were awarded to students at the ceremony officially marking the beginning of Hamilton’s 210th academic year.
The Charles A. Dana Prize Scholarships are awarded to approximately 10 students at the end of their first year in recognition of academic achievement, character, and leadership. The prize scholarships continue through the senior year, provided the recipients continue to fulfill the requirements.
Area students honored by Elmira
ELMIRA — Elmira College recently announced this year’s recipients of its annual Key Award. This year’s award was given to 790 students in 14 states. A tradition that goes back to 1935, the Key Award is presented to outstanding students in their junior year of high school or preparatory school. Recipients included:
Sean Helferich (Broadalbin), Jack Bruce (Gloversville), Mekenzie Hichens (Gloversville) and Julia Fitzgerald (Gloversville) were among those honored.
Sponsored by the EC Alumni Association, the Key Award recognizes students for high scholastic achievement, leadership, citizenship, and participation in extracurricular activities.
Barnhart honored by Florida Tech
MELBOURNE, Fla. — Rose Barnhart of Amsterdam was named to the Spring 2021 Dean’s List at Florida Institute of Technology.
To be included on the Dean’s List, a student must complete 12 or more graded credits in a semester with a semester grade point average of at least 3.4.
Sherman graduates from Manchester
NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. — Ashley Sherman of Johnstown graduated with a Master of Science in Pharmacogenomics from Manchester University during May 22 Commencement exercises.
Sherman was among 274 students who received degrees.
