Library to have book discussion

FORT PLAIN — The Fort Plain Free Library, 19 Willett St., will have in-person book discussion at 3 p.m. May 18 on Sebastian Junger’s 2016 book, “Tribe: On Homecoming and Belonging,” according to a news release.

Junger, a journalist, author and filmmaker, explores what the participants can learn about those topics from tribal societies, particularly in relation to returning combat veterans. The book helps explain “Why we are stronger when we come together and how that can be achieved in today’s divided world.”

The books and audiobooks are now available for borrowing in advance. To reserve a copy of the book and to participate in the free book discussion, contact the library by calling (518) 993-4646; e-mail: fortplainfreelibrary@gmail.com or message the library on Facebook.

The library is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday; and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
