Virtual celebrations of George Washington

FORT PLAIN — The Fort Plain Museum and Historical Park will present a George Washington’s birthday celebration with the following three free virtual events by three historians. These events are made possible through an anonymous donor, according to a news release.

— At 6 p.m. Monday: Edward G. Lengel — George Washington and the Nemesis of War.

— At 7 p.m. Thursday: Mary V. Thompson — “The Only Unavoidable Subject of Regret”: George Washington, Slavery, and the Enslaved Community at Mount Vernon.

— At 7 p.m. March 1, James Kirby Martin — Remembering George Washington: In Context.
